This Indenture made this twelfth day of December in the year of Christ one Thousand Seven hundred & Eighty Seven Between Fortune Reeves in the County of Guilford & State of North Carolina of the one part and Thomas Reeves in the Same County & State of the other part Witnnesseth that the Sd. Fortune Reeves for & in Consideration to her of the Sum of Twenty five pounds Current Specie in hand Specie (sic?) the Receipt hereof I the Sd Fortune Reeves Doth hereby acknowledge & hereof aquit (sic) Hath given granted sold alined (sic) Enfeofed & Confirmed and do by these presents give grant sell confirm unto the sd Thomas Reeves fifty five acres of Land Being part of a Tract or parcel of Land Situate on Both sides of Mars fork the waters of Haw River in the County aforesd. Beginning at a Black Oak thence East on Richard Burtens line Twenty Seven & a half poles to a black Oak & post Oak thence South on Jesse Reeves line crossing the Sd. Creek three hundred & twenty poles to a Red Oak thence west on on (sic) the original line - Twenty Seven & half poles to a Black Oak thence North on Hugh Robinson’s line crossing the Said Mars fork again three hundred & Twenty poles to the first Station Together with all woods waters mines minerals hereditaments & appurtenances to the Sd. Land belonging or appertaining to hold to the Sd Thomas Reeves his Heirs or assigns for ever they yielding & paying such sums of money yearly or otherwise as the General Assembly may from time to time Direct & the Sd. Fortune Reeves & her heirs the Sd. Tennement (sic) and premises & every part thereof against her & her heirs & against all & every other person or persons whatsoever Laying lawful right or Claim Thereunto to have & to hold to the Sd. Thomas Reeves his heirs or assigns for ever Do warrant & Defend by these presents in Witness whereof I the Sd. Fortune Reeves hath hereunto Set my hand and affixed my (sic) in the Day and Year first above Written -Fortune (her X mark) Reeves (Seal)
