Transcription
This Indenture made this Eighth day of November in the Year of One Thousand and Seven Hundred & Ninety Six Between William Reeves of the one part & John Hall of the other part both parties being of the County of Granville & State of North Carolina Witnesseth that the sd. William Reeves for divers good Causes & considerations him hereunto moving but more especially for the sum of Three hundred & Sixty pounds Current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the sd John Hall the Rect whereof he the sd William Reeves doth hereby acknowledge & doth forever acquit & discharge the sd John Hall his heirs Exers & Admrs he the sd William Reeves hath bargained & sold & by these presents doth grant bargain sell alien & confirm unto the sd John Hall & his heirs & assigns forever all that tract or parcel of land whereon he the sd William Reeves now lives lying & being on both sides Tabbs Creek in the County aforesd containing two hundred & fifty Seven acres be the same more or less & bounded as follows, To wit, Beginning at a red oak running North 112 poles to an Ash in the branch thence West to a pine 116 poles thence down the Creek to an ash 6 poles thence West to a red oak 94 poles thence South forty One Degs west to a pine 34 poles thence West to a post oak 137 poles thence South to a red oak 93 poles thence East to the first Station To have & to hold the aforesd Tract or parcel of land with all houses orchards Gardens Woods & other premises thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining & the sd William Reeves for himself & his heirs, doth covenant and agree to & with the sd John Hall his heirs & assigns that he the sd William Reeves will Warrant & forever defend the aforesd lands & premises unto the sd John Hall and his heirs & assigns forever free & clear of Incumbrances & against all & every claim or claims of him the sd William Reeves & his heirs & every other person or persons whomsoever In Testimony whereof the sd William Reeves hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his Seal the date Written } ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~William Reeves (Seal)
