THIS INDENTURE MADE THIS 28 DAY OF January Anno Dommini (sic) one thousand Seven hundred & ninety Seven Between Wm. Reves & James Chesser both of the County of Wilkes North Carolina Witnesseth that the Sd. Wm. Reves for an in Consideration of the Sum of one hundred pounds to him in hand paid by the Sd. James Chesser the Receipt whereof the Sd. Wm. Reves doth hereby Acknowledge & himself fully Satisfyd and paid hath Granted Bargained Sold & Confirmed & by these presents doth fully Clearly & Absolutely Grant Bargain Sell Convey and Confirm unto the said James Chesser his heirs and Assigns forever A tract or parcel of Land Supposed to be two hundred Acres more or Less lying in the County of Wilkes on the South Side of New River, Beginning at a Chesnut tree at the Mouth of a Branch Runing thence North Eighty Degrees East three Hundred and fifty poles down the Several Meanders of Sd. branch River to a Conditional line Between Sd. Wm. Reves & James Chesser thence along Sd. line to path to white oak on the side of the path thence along the Said path the Waggon Rode therein Along the Rode to South Side of Sd. Reves line to white oak & red oak thence west to the Beginning - With Every Right title priviledge & Emoluments to the Sd. Land belonging or any wise appertaining & the Sd. Wm. Reves doth Bind himself his Heirs Executors & Admrs well & truly to warrant & ever defend aforesd. Premises with all the appurtainces (sic) to him the Sd. James Chesser his heirs and assigns free and Clear of all incumbrances & Claims whatsoever in Witness Whereof the Sd. Wm. Reves hath Signed Sealed & delivered in presents of us
