THIS INDENTURE made this (blank in original) day of Eighteen hundred & one Between Samuel Reves of Rowan County & State of North Carolina of the one part & Thomas Reves of the County & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the sd. Samuel Reves for and in consideration of the Sum of Twenty Five pounds North Carolina Currency to him in hand paid at or before the Ensealing & delivery of these — by the sd. Thomas Reves the receipt whereof the sd. Samuel Reves doth hereby acknowledge himself fully satisfied contented & paid & of every part & parcel thereof, doth fully exhonerate & discharge him the sd. Thomas Reves his heirs & assigns forever & the sd. Samuel Reves hath by these presents given Granted bargained sold aliened Enfeofed Conveyed & Confirmed doth fully & Clearly give Grant Bargain Sell alien Enfeoffed (sic) convey & confirm unto the sd. Thomas Reves, his his (sic) heirs & assigns forever all that piece or parcel of Land lying & being in Rowan County & State aforesd. on the North side of the Beaverdam Creek being part of a tract of Land Granted by the Earl Granville to James Dobbins, Dated by patent the Twenty first day of December Seventeen Hundred & Sixty one as by record will more plainly appear - Beginning for the sd. piece or percel of Land at a Hickory in Lowrences Line & Runing thence North two degrees West Eighty three poles to a Hicory one of the Original corners, thence East two degrees North one Hundred & forty Six poles to a Stake Alexander Dobbins Corner then South a half a degree East one Hundred & Eighty poles to a Red Oak in Alexander Dobbins’s Line thence West two degrees South Sixty four poles to a Hickory Stake thence North Thirty two poles to a Red oak Stake thence to the Begining, West Eighty five poles & a half Containing by Estimation ninety one acres & a Quarter of Land be the same more or less - Together with all & Singular the Improvements Appurtenances to the Same Belonging or in any wise Appurtaining to have & to hold the sd. Bargained Land premises Unto the only proper use & behoof of him the sd. Thomas Reves his Heirs & assigns forever & to no other use Interest or purpose Whatever & that sd. Thomas Reves his heirs Executors administrators & assigns shall & may hold, have amply possess & Enjoy the sd. Land & premises free & Clear from any loss suit trouble or molestation from by or under he or the sd. Saml Reves his heirs & assigns or by Either of them & that the sd. Samuel Reves Doth Covenant & agree for himself his heirs Executors & Administrators with the sd. Thomas Reves his heirs & assigns forever to Warrant & Defend the sd. Lands & premises from all manner of lawfull Claims whatsoever unto the sd. Thomas Reves his heirs & assigns forever, According to its Meets & Bounds & the true Intent & meaning of these presents Acts of assembly in such case, Made & provided, In Witness whereof the sd. Samuel Reves hath hereunto set his hand & Affixed his Seal the day & year first above written -
