Know all men by these Presents that I Lovett Reaves planter of the province of North Carolina and County Wayne Send Greetings Know all ye that I Lovett Reaves for and in consideration of the sum of Sixteen Dollars to me in hand paid by Stephen Reaves of the province and County aforesaid before the ensealing and delivery of the presents the receipt Whereof I do hereby acknowledge and confess that I am therewith fully satisfied Contented and paid for the same consideration have being granted sold assigned and delivered unto the said Stephen Reaves his heirs and assigns forever a Certain tract or parcel of land Situate lying and being in the County of Wayne beginning at a pine (unreadable) William Reaves Sr. old line on the East side of the road called Dickinsons (unreadable) thence with said line East to a pine (unreadable) thence South forty eight pole to a black oak in John Reaves line (unreadable) Said line South 76 West eighty poles to a black oak said Reaves Corner then with his line No 70 West twenty two pole to a black oak sd Reaves Corner then with his line So 4 Wt 42 poles to a pine said Reaves then with his line Wt Forty two poles to a post oak on the east side of said road (unreadable) with said road to the Beginning Containing Sixty acres be it the same more or less it being part of a Patent Granted to Adam Reaves in the year 1794 together with all woods and waters and furthermore I the said Lovett Reaves do covenant and agree to and with the said Stephen Reaves that the above bargained premises is sure free and clear from all manner of encumberances whatsoever and the said Stephen Reaves shall and may forever hereafter have hold use Sell give grant or dispose of the same his heirs Executor Administrators as they see cause for him or them to yield and payable taxes that shall come due hereafter I Lovett Reaves will warrant and forever defend the said Land to the said Stephen Reaves his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful claim or claims of any other person or persons whatsoever Witness my hand & Seal this 9th day of Jany 1807
