THIS INDENTURE made this fifteenth day of March in year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and ten by and between William Rives of the County of Franklin and State of North Carolina of the one part, and the church Militant of Jesus Christ and Moses Neal in the behalf of the same of the other part. Witnesseth that I the said William Rieves (sic) hath given granted and made over and by these presence do give grant and make over unto the said church of Jesus Christ and Moses Neal in behalf of the same one certain Lot of land lying and being in the County of Franklin on the North side of Crooked Creek and Bounded as follows Beginning at a pursimon (sic) tree on my Spring Branch, Thence down the said branch to a maple in Nathaniel Hunts line Thence east along his line to a post oak. Thence near North to a lightwood post in my old Field thence near West to the first station containing one acre and three Quarters be the same more or less including all within those bounds together with all woods waters and appurtenances unto the said land belonging. To have and to hold the said land and premises free and clear from all incumbrances lawfull rights or claims of any Person or Persons whatever and the said William Rives do for myself my heirs executors administrators &c presume a good and lawfull right to the said land to be invested in me which right I do as aforesaid and by these presence do give grant and make over unto the aforesaid Church Militant of Jesus Christ to be occupied by her and for the use and only use of a meeting house forever. In Witness whereof I do hereunto set my hand and seal this day and date above written.
