Transcription

This Indenture made and agreed upon this 2nd day of January and in the year of our Lord one thousand and Eight hundred and fifteen Between James Reves of the State of North Carolina of the one part and Ebed Jones of the Said State and County of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of four hundred dollars paid by the Said Ebed Jones the receipt thereof is the Said James Reves doth hereby acknowledge himself Satisfied and by these presents hath Bargained Sold and Conveyed unto him the Said Ebed Jones his heirs &c the following tract or parcel of land in the County of Buncombe on the waters of Sandy much Creek and bounded as follows Begining at a stake two poles East of a Spanish oak Davidsons & Henrys old Corner and runs East one hundred and fifty three poles crossing Sugar Creek to two pines on a ridge the north one hundred and fifty five poles crossing the main Creek to a Stake then west one hundred and fifty three to a stake thence South along a conditional line agreed upon between Said Jones & John Parmer to a certain white oak on the north bank of Said Sandy mush Creek near Reveses old mill then a direct line to the Begining containing one hundred and fifty acres also one other tract adjoining the same lying on Sugar Creek Begining at three lower (?) woods on the South of an hill in Davidsons and Henrys old line and runs South two hundred and twenty poles up the Creek to a stake then west one hundred and two poles crossing the creek to a stake then north two hundred and twenty poles to a stake then to the Begining containing one hundred and fifty acres also one other tract lying on the said Sugar (creek ?) and bounded as follows Begining at two Beaches on the Side of an hill near the mouth of a branch joining his other tracts and runs West fifty Eight poles crossing the creek to a white oak on the top of a ridge then south thirty poles to a black oak on the side of a mountain then South forty five degrees west thirty poles to a Stake then South forty five degrees East one hundred and twenty Six poles to a stake then to the Begining containing by computation fifty acres which Said land and premises with all woods ways waters mines minerals hereditaments and appurtenances he the Said James Reves for himself his heirs Executors administrators assigns & from all other persons doth warrant and defend the Said land in fee Simple unto him the Said Ebed Jones his heirs Executors administrators and assigns with all its rights properties or profits thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining In witness whereof he the Said James Reves hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his Seal in the presence of
