Be it known that I Owen Harrison and Sarah Harrison my wife, of the County of Rowan and state of North Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of eighty pounds current money of North Carolina to me in hand paid by John C. Reeves of the County and State aforesaid at and before the sealing and signing of these presents the receipt and payment whereof in full is hereby acknowledged, have bargained, sold aliened, Enfeoffed and confirmed, and I do hereby bargain, Sell, Enfeoff and confirm unto the said John C. Reeves all our right, title, claim & demand that we have in a certain tract of land (nk) our full distributive share of the lands of Samuel Reeves deceased, lying in the said County of Rowan and State aforesaid on the Beaverdam Creek bounded by Alexander Dobbins, Thomas Reeves, Thymothy Old the whole tract contains (blank in original) acres
I the said Owen Harrison & Sarah Harrison my wife do hereby sell convey and forever cofirm (sic confirm) all our right, title claim and demand in and to the said undivided tract of land. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the same, with all woods, ways, waters and water courses and every other appurtenance thereunto belonging to the said John C. Reeves, his heirs and assigns forever, hereby making ordaining constituting and confirming him the said John C. Reeves in our lieu and stead to draw for and receive our full distributive shares of the said lands which is one fifth part of the tract to have hold possess and enjoy the same free and clear of all and any incumbrance whatever with the rights and members and appurtenances thereunto belonging and we for ourselves our heirs Executors, and administrators do hereby covenant and promise to and with the said John C. Reeves, that we by ourselves our heirs Executors, and Administrators shall and will forever warrant and defend the claim hereby conveyed from the lawful claim or claims of any and every other person persons whatever unto the said John C. Reeves his heirs and assigns forever. In Witness whereof I the said Owen Harrison and Sarah Harrison my wife have hereunto set our hands and seals this seventeenth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen

State of North Carolina
               Sarah Harrison one of the grantors in the within deed of bargain & Sale appeared before me Samuel Lowrie one of the Judges of the Superior Court of law & Equity in & for the State afsd by me was Examined separate & apart from her Husband touching & concerning her execution of the same, who acknowledged that she signed sealed and delivered the said deed freely & voluntarily without fear or coercion of her husband Owen Harrison the other granted let it be registered.
