William Terril Power of Attorney to William Reves
State of North Carolina     §           November 13th 1816
Ashe County                           §           I William Terrill of the State of
Indiana do appoint William Reves of the aforesaid County my agent and Attorney in fact, and fully authorize him to receive & collect of Meredith Ballow any Debt or Debts, account or accounts, demand or demands, oweing by contract or otherwise and fully atherwise (sic authorize?) him to bring suit for the Same in my name as his own as my complete Attorney and to use all things necessary for it & other being (?) of the Same or fully and amply as I could do were I present and prosecuting the Same given under hand and Seal the date above written.

Research Notes

This William Terrill is most likely William Reves' brother-in-law. The James Cox family bible where children of James' first wife, the widow Mrs. Elizabeth Terrill, are recorded, includes a William Terrill born 1773.
