Transcription

This Indenture Made and concluded upon this 9 day of September In the year of our Lord one thousand eight Hundred and Seventeen James Reves of the State of North Carolina Buncombe County of the one part and John Parmer of the State of North Carolina and Buncombe County of the other part witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum of one hundred and twenty dollars to the Said James Reaves in hand paid before the Sealing and Delivering of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged he the said James Reaves doth By these presents Sell alien convey and Confirm unto him the said John Parmer a certain piece or parcel of land Situate lying and Being In the State of North Carolina & Buncombe County on Both sides of Sugar Creek of Sandy mush Creek a certain tract land Begining on the west Side of the Creek eighteen poles from James Wels (sic) old Corner on three white oaks on the ould line a Stake and runs South forty five West one hundred and Sixty Six poles up the said Creek to a Stake thence South forty five east One hundred and thirty two poles to a Stake then North forty five East Seventy four poles to a Stake on the Bank of the Cane (?) Branch on the ould line and down the said Branch to the month and thence a direct Course to the Begining containing by Estimation ninety Eight acres to be the Same more or less to have and to hold the Aforesaid tract to him the Said John Parmer together with all its ways woods waters water courses and appurtenances to the Same belonging or In any wise appertaining to to (sic) hold to him the Said John Parmer his heirs and assigns forever and he the said James Reaves doth Covenant promise and agree to and with him the said John Parmer that he the said James Reaves Will warrant and forever defend the aforesaid tract of land together with its appurtenances to him the Said John Parmer his heirs and assigns forever against the lawful Claim of all person or persons what soever the government or publick taxes Excepted in witness where of he the said James Reves hath here unto Set his hand and seal the day and date above writen (sic) in presents of us
