RW Pension Statement of Samuel Reeves
Lincoln County, Tennessee
20 Sep 1819

Samuel Reeves, age 66, and Susannah W. applied in Lincoln County, Tennessee on September 20, 1819 for a Revolutionary War pension. Samuel enlisted for six months in 1775 in Surry County under Captain Joseph Phillips under Colonel Polk in the line of State of North Carolina. He served until November 1777 when he was discharged from service in New Jersey. He was in the Battle of Brandywine and Germantown. Wm. Reaves, a neighbor, made an affidavit as to Samuel Reaves character. Malachie Reeves, son of Samuel, also signed an affidavit. It also appears that Samuel had a son William who was mentioned in the application.
