This Indenture made this the 22nd of Sept 1823 Between Avery Reaves of the one part and Haiden Trigg Senr of the other part both of the county of Franklin and State of Tennessee. Witnesseth that the sd. Avery Reaves for and in consideration of the sum of thirteen hundred and twenty five Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Haiden Trigg the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have given granted bargained and sold & by these presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said Haiden Trigg Senr one certain tract or parcel of land lying and being in the County of Franklin on the waters of Beans Creek Beginning at four dogwoods which is a corner between John Sanders & said Reaves running thence East one hundred and seventy poles to a maple b**nding on the said Sanders line thence North 56 poles to a white oak thence East thirty poles to a white oak and poplar which is a corner of a Survey which sd. Reaves purchased of Wm. P. Anderson thence South 270 poles to a birch and ash standing at the foot of Cumberland Mountain thence South westwardly with the meanders of said Mountain pursuing an old marked line eighty-one poles to a sugar tree marked D & a linn (?) tree meandering on the said Mountain so as to conclude that part of a Survey which was entered in the name of John Gordon which tract sd. Reaves now lives & sold from said Gordon to John Daniell and from said Daniell to said Reaves to the dividing line between sd Reaves to Daniell end Beginning containing two hundred and sixty five acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land with all and singular thereunto belonging unto the said Haiden Trigg Senr. his heirs and assigns forever which the said Avery Reaves for himself and his heirs and assigns doth warrant and will ever defend against the claim Challenges or demand of all persons whatever. This the within deed of Conveyance from Avery Reaves to Haiden Trigg for two hundred and sixty five acres was duly proven in open court by the oaths of William Trigg and David O. Anderson Witnesses thereto and Ordered to be Registered. Let it be Registered
