Whereas we James Reeves and John Wright stand indebted to Jno. Herron in the Sum of Five Hundred and Thirty Three and a half Dollars upon a Sealed Note having Date the 26th of February in the year of our Lord 1825 Now know all by the presents that we the said James Reeves and John Wright in consideration of he said Debt and owing to the Said Andrew Herron and for the purpose of better Serving the payment thereof - According to the Tenor and Effect of the Sealed Notes we have Bargained Sold and by these presents do Bargain Sell Transfer and Convey unto the said Andrew Heron Six Negroes belonging to the Said James Reeves (viz.) One man named Andrew And Anthony, one woman Winey, one woman Fanny, and one boy George and Bob and Tract of land belonging to John Wright and whereupon he now lives consisting of 203 acres more or less which property we do hereby bind ourselves our Heirs Executors and Assigns to warrant and defend to the said Andrew Herron the above named property forever - of the said James Reeves and John Wright their Heirs Executors and Assigns shall --- pay the said Andrew Herron the sum of money due on the above not under seal according to the Tenor and Effect of said Note...28th February 1825

Personally came Samuel Roach and made oath that he was present and saw James Reeves and John Wright sign seal and Deliver the within Mortgage for the now said purposes therein mentioned and that he and B. D. Thompson in the presence of each other witnessed the said Execution thereof. Sworn to this fifth of March Anno Domini 1827.
