Transcription

State of North Carolina Stokes County. Know all men by these presents that I Charles Reves of the County and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Samuel Foddral of said County the receipt whereof is hereby fully acknowledged have given granted bargained and sold and do by these presents grant bargain and sell unto the Said Samuel Foddral a certain negro boy by the name of Daniel of the age of twelve years on the 15th day of Decr. next and I the said Charles Rives (sic Reves) the right and title of the said negro boy Daniel (slave) to the said Samuel Foddral his heirs and assigns will forever warrant and defend against the lawful claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever and against the claim of myself and my heirs. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 23rd day of May 1828,
