Lancaster District         } Know all men by these presents that we John Reeves & Britton Blackman of Lancaster District in the State aforesaid in consideration of the sum of One hundred & sixteen dollars & sixty six two third cents to me paid by Jefferson Belk of said District and State aforesaid have granted bargained sold released and by these presents do grant bargain sell and release unto the said Jefferson Belk our interest in a certain tract of land containing two hundred & seventy five acres more or less lying on the watters of Bear Creek & Flat Creek Beginning on a forked Spanish Oak Corner thence N. E. to a post oak Corner thence N. W. to a Stake Corner thence along John Small's line to the Corner thence C. to a post Oak Corner thence E along B Stogner's line to a turkey Oak Corner thence E to the beginning Corner - John Reeves Interest in one half of the third and one sixth part of the remainder Britton Blackmon. Britton Blackman interest is one sixth. Together with all and singular the rights members hereditaments appurtenances to the same belonging or in any wise incident and Appurtaining to have and to hold all and singular of our Interests of the premises unto the said Jefferson Belk his heirs and assigns forever and we do hereby bind ourselves our heirs & Executors and Administrators to Warrant and forever defend all and singular the said premises unto the said Jefferson Belk his heirs and assigns against ourselves our heirs and every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part of our interests - Witness our hands and seals this the eighth day of January 1840
