Circuit Court - The Criminal docket was taken up on Monday and several cases have been disposed of. Alex.McFarrin, Haywood Wilson and Bennett Wilson, (colored) for stealing a hog from Thom. Castles, will serve one year in the penitentiary. Nathan White (colored)- LaGrange case, for stealing a horse, penitentiary 15 years. Jim Shirley (colored) for assault upon Jno.H.Williams, fined $500. The same party was convicted of carrying a pistol, for which he will pay a fine of $10 and take up quarters for 30 days in the county jail, unless he again escapes as he did last fall.
In the case of Wm. Garr, railroad engineer, for assault on Dick Hancock (colored)a nol.pros. was entered. Paul J Reeves, charged with carrying a pistol, submitted his case and was fined $5. In the case of J G Reeves, for carrying a pistol, a motion was made for change of venue to Criminal Court at Memphis. A number of other cases were disposed of by fines and submissions.
