Spouse2: Nancy or Mary

Narrative

The earliest deed from a Benjamin in Fleming County, from 1815, mentions his wife's name as Jenny. This would appear to be Benjamin son of Elijah as he received this land from Elijah in an earlier deed from 1805. However, it is possible this is a reference to Benjamin s/o Benjamin whose wife's name was Hannah Jane and refers to wife Jane in his will.

A deed from 1817 mentions a Benjamin Reeves of Fleming County as an heir of Elijah: "Thomas Reeves Elijah Reeves Spencer Reeves Benjamin Reeves, William Royse, Elizabeth his wife and Anthony Worley & Jinney his wife Peggy Reeves, Rody Reeves & Peggy Reeves Senr widow of Elijah Reeves deceased all of Fleming County & State of Kentucky except Thomas Reeves & Anthony Worley & Jinny his wife of the State of Ohio & County Sciota of the one part all lawful heirs of Elijah Reeves."

In an 1819 deed where the heirs of Elijah sell some property, this Benjamin's his wife's name is mentioned as Nancy. In another heirs deed, from 1820, his wife's name is mentioned as Mary.

Research Notes

There is a Benjamin Reeves who is listed in the 1820 and 1830 census records in Fleming County. That may be this Benjamin. However, there was a Benjamin Reeves whose will was recorded in 1838 in Fleming County, so it may actually be him.
