The following is a correct statement of all that has come into my hands as the guardian of John Reeves heirs (seven in number) viz James, John, Salley, Elizabeth, Jefferson, Caroline & Martha Reeves.
Recorded 19 November 1827 of William A. Tharpe administrator of John Reeves decd, one hundred & twenty three dollars 51-1/2 cents for each of my wards as above and the further sum of $25.47 of William A. Tharpe administrator of Sarah Holloway decd for each of my wards, making together the sum of one hundred & forty eight dollars and 99 cents for each. They have no other estate that is known to me except their undivided interest in the real estate of the deceased.
                                              James Holloway
Wake County February Term 1828
The above amount was returned in open court and ordered to be recorded. - B. S. King, C.C.

The only record found thus far other than the above guardian record and the deed disbursing John Reeves' land is a power of attorney to Solomon Williams, the husband of his aunt Susannah Holloway, empowering him to obtain all monies due from his guardian, James Holloway. This power of attorney is dated December of 1830 and is executed by John Reeves in Fayette County, Tennessee but lists John as living in the Territory of Arkansas. Solomon Williams subsequently sold to a William A. Tharp of Henry County, Tennessee, the lands left to John Reeves by his father, John Reeves, and his grandmother Sarah Patterson Holloway. Presumably this William A. Tharp is the same person who was the administrator of the estate of John Reeves in 1825. Obviously a group of individuals from Wake County had migrated to Tennessee together. Willis Reeves of Orange County and his family also left North Carolina for Fayette County, Tennessee sometime after 1832.

The 1830 and 1840 census of Jasper, Crittenden County, Arkansas lists a John Reeves. In 1840, he is 20-30 with a wife 20-30 and son 0-10 as well as another male 20-30 in the household. In the 1850 census of the same county, a John Reves, born in North Carolina circa 1808, with wife Ann and sons William, James and George are listed. The fact that a John Holloway (uncle of John Reeves) is also listed on the 1830 census of Crittenden County gives credence to the belief that this is John Reeves of Wake County.

John Reves was issued a certificate for Land Warrant Nbr. 4745 on 22 Jan 1847 for 80 acres in Crittenden County, Arkansas through the District of Lands Subject to Sale at Helena, Arkansas.
