Narrative

Little is currently known of John C. Reeves other than what information is found in Rowan County deeds. Beginning in 1815 John C. Reeves started to purchase from his siblings the lands left by their deceased father, Samuel Reeves. The final transaction by John C. Reeves was in 1821 when he sold all of the lands that he had previously purchased from his siblings to one of his youngest brothers, Bennet Abner Reeves. That deed is recorded in Rowan County Deed Book 26 at page 852.

The 1821 deed appears to be the last record of John C. Reeves in Rowan County.
