David Cox and his wife Lucy are listed among the heirs of George Reeves, Sr. in three deeds conveying property owned by George recorded in Grayson County, Virginia deed books 3 and 4.

The will of David Cox written on 26 Oct. 1857. and proved April term 1862, names daughter Pegga Gambill wife of John Gambill, daughter Jane Krowse (sic Crouse] wife of John Krowse, son George R. Cox, grandson David Reid Cox son of George R. Cox, and son John R. Cox. Execs: son George R. Cox & son-in-law John Gambill. Wits: George W. Reeves, T.C. Douglas, Saml. Cox. Lucy Reeves Cox was recorded in the 1850 census of Ashe County NC in the household of David Cox; however, she was not mentioned in the will of David Cox above which indicates that she was deceased by the time it was written in October of 1857.
