Narrative

Ubgate Reeves served in the War of 1812 as a Private in Capts. I. Gordon and H. Cox's Companies of the Maryland Militia. His widow, Elizabeth C. filed for a widow's pension.

The service widow's pension for "Ubget" Reeves for Elizabeth C. Reeves was applied for in 1880 and states that Ubget died c1866. It states she was married to Ubget Reeves near Mattawoman Swamp, at the parsonage, in Charles County, Maryland, in 1858 or 1859. Her name before marriage was Elizabeth C. Wilkerson. She also states that Ubget was previously married to Celia Reeves who died in Charles County, Maryland and that Ubget died at Mattawoman Swamp c1866.

Uggate made a will dated 30 Dec 1867 in Charles County, Maryland, naming only his wife Elizabeth C. Reeves, and appointing Thomas C. Reeves of St. Mary's County, Maryland as executor. The will was proved on 28 May 1868.
