Located on the south coast of England, Hampshire is bordered by Dorset to the west, Wiltshire to the north west, Berkshire to the north, Surrey to the north east and Sussex to the east. The English Channel forms the southern boundary with the Isle of Wight across The Solent.Winchester is the modern day county town.
