The Last Will and Testament of Elijah Reeve Senr of the Mamacotten Town County of Ulster and State of New York, yeoman, being weak in Body, but of perfect mind memory and understanding Do make this as and for my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. First I give to my well beloved wife Sarah all those things of what kindsoever she brought to me to be at her disposal forever. I also give so much of my household Goods to my said wife during her being a widow in my name as she needs to keep her house, and seven Bushels of wheat and three of Corn both merchantable and sixty weight of Beef. Ten pounds of Fallow and grain to raise and fat one pig as needful, every summer, and one Milch cow, to be well kept winter and summer, and a sufficient quantity of firewood, which is to be prepared and seasonably brought to her as shall order and twelve pounds flax and six pounds of wool and apples, to use and a house to ride equally as tho I was living and the use of the room we now Lodge in and the use of so much of the house she stands in need of and five pounds current money of this State, the money goods and previledges herein mentioned to be paid, rendered and provided yearly and every year during her widowhood in my name, and said Sarah whilst my widow; in all things to be taken care of in sickness and in health by my executors herein after named
Item This yearly legacy or bequest to my wife to be aid out of my estate at the expense and provision of my two sons herein after named executors
Item I give and bequeath unto my son Elijah Reeve one half of that Land I bought of William Jellet with the right and appurtenances thereto belonging and to his heirs and assigns forever.
Item I give unto my said son Elijah one yoke of oxen and one house, one half of all my tools and implements of husbandry of every kind and and one half excepting what belongs to my saw mill ten mile River , and my household furniture) and I also give unto my sd son Elijah fifty pounds in good and lawful money of this state.
Item I also give and bequeth unto my youngest son Elisha Reeve one half of the four hundred acres of land I now live on in the sd town with the one half of the members and appurtenances. Rights estate and emoluments thereto belonging or in anywise appertaining and to his heirs and assigns forever, with one half of the land I bought of above named William Jellet with all the rights thereto belonging and to his heirs and assigns forever, with one half of my tools, as to my son Elijah give, so I give to him the other half and with the same exception, with one yoke of oxen, and one horse and ten pounds good and lawful money of the state aforesaid I give and bequeath unto my sd son Elisha.
Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Abigail Five pounds in like money aforesaid and I do also will and hereby order my executors herein after named to pay all my just and lawful debts as soon as conveniently they can and to make no Division of anything until the Debts be paid except what is already given away to be paid in a way they shall think most proper; and then divide every part of my remaining estate real and personal after the manner following - first also paying unto my daughter Tempora Reeve five pounds life lawful money. That is to say I give all my estate real and personal not already give and herein mentioned to my eight children and to my grand child Sarah Coleman. Elijah Reeve, Elisha Reeve my two sons. Mary Tucker, Keturah Newkirk, Rebekah Moore, Tempora Reeve, Abigail Seybolt, Bettsie Bull an equal Division to the above named eight children an equal part of sd estate excepting as before excepted and also one half of one childs part portion or legacy, arrising from such division to my sd Grandchild Sarah Coleman, and my will and meaning is that the sd Sarah Coleman is and shall have the one half of the one eight portion as above, the meaning is a seventeenth part and be it remembered that if my present wife Sarah should again marry after my death and from thence become a widow should she be in need, she shall be received into my house, with all the benefit and priviledges herein before mentioned, the five pounds yearly, only excepted, and I do constitute and appoint my dearly beloved sons Elijah & Elisha Reeve my executors to this my ast will and Testament and revoking all other I declare this to be my last will and testament. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of September in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine.

Ulster County } Be it remembered that on the Second day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three personally came and appeared before me Joseph
Gasherie surrogate of the said County, Elisha Reeve of Wall Kill in the said County yeoman and being duly sworn on his oath declared that he did see Elijah Reeve sign and seal the within written instrument purporting to be the will of the said Elijah Reeve bearing date the twenty fourth day of September in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and eighty nine and heard him publish and declare the same as and for his last will and testament, that at the time thereof he the said Elijah Reeve was of sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the deponent and Thomas White and Daniel Jones together with the deponent subscribed the said Will and Testament thereto in the Testators presence

The people of the state of New York, by the Grace of God Free and Independent, To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern, send Greeting. Know ye that at Ulster County on the second day of January instant before Joseph Gashire Esq Surrogate of our said County the Last Will and Testament of Elijah Reeve deceased (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved and is now approved and allowed of by us. And the said deceased having whilst he lived and at the Time of his Death Goods Chattels or Credits within this State, by means whereof the proving and registering the said Will and the granting administration of all and singular the said Goods Chattels and Credits and also the Auditing allowing and final discharging the account thereof doth belong unto us, the Administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, and anyway concerning his will is granted unto Elijah Reeve and Elisha Reeve Junr the Executors in the said Will named they being first duly sworn, well and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said Goods Chattels and Credits and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required.
In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of Office our said Surrogate to be thereunto affixed.
