The following deed of conveyance from John Reaves to George Woolf being proven before Saml. Earle Esqr. by the oath of John Mcafee was Recorded this 23rd day of June 1794.

THIS INDENTURE made this Twentieth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety three and in the Seventeenth year of the Independence of United States of America Between John Reaves of the County of Spartanburgh and State of So. Carolina of the one part and George Woolf of the County and State aforesaid of the other pat Witnesseth that the said John Reaves for and in consideration of the sum of thirty pounds Sterling to him in hand paid before the Sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge hath granted bargained and sold and conveyed and by these presents do confirm unto the said George Woolf his heirs Exers. Admrs. or assigns for ever all that tract or plantation of land lying and being on George Woolfs Creek waters of the middle fork of Saluda River Beginning at a stake on the said George Woolfs land Runing No. 40W-37-50 to Stake thence No. 72 E 18-20 to a Sowerwood, thence So. 42 E 30-00 to a Stake, thence So. 18 W 18 to the beginning containing fifty eight acres be the same more or less, being Tract of land which was granted by his Excellency Thomas Pinckney unto the said John Reeves as will shew by a Grant bearing date the 7th day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven Together with all woods Trees tithes commons advantages hereditatments ways waters and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or in any otherwise appertaining and also the reversion and reversions, Remainder and Remainders rents and Services of said premises and of every pat thereof and all the estate right Title Interest or demand whatsoever of him the said John Reeves of in or to the same to have and to hold the said tract of land and all and Singular the premises above mentioned and every part thereof with the appurtenances unto the said George Woolf his heirs and assigns for ever and the said John Reeves for himself and his heirs the said Tract of land and every of the premises thereunto belonging against him the said John Reeves his heirs Exers. and Admrs. and all and every other persons unto the said George Woolf his heirs and assigns shall and will warrant and for ever defend by these presents In Witness whereof I the said John Reeves hath hereunto set my hand & Seal the day and date above
