State of South Carolina
Know All men by these presents that I Patrick Graves of the District of Chester in the State aforesd for & in consideration of the sum of four Hundred Dollars to me in hand paid by John Reeves of the State & District of Chester Have Granted, Bargained, Sold & Released & By these presents do Grant Bargain Sell & Release unto the sd John Reeves all that Plantation or tract of Land containing one hundred acres situate in sd District of Chester on the West side of Catabaw River Beginning at a Large Black oak, thence S16 E40 Chs to a stake by a Spanish oak Bounded on Jas Walkers Land, thence N85 E 25 Chs to a persimmon. Bounded on John Foresters Land, Thence N 16 W 40 Chs to a Stake on the Line of Lands belonging to Genl Davey & Thence S85 W25 Chs on sd Lands to the Beginning being part of a Tract of Land originally Granted to Gasper Culp the 25th day of Sept AD1754 for 1000 acres Together with all & Singular the Rights, Members, Hereditaments & appurtenances to the sd premises belonging or in any wise incident or appertaining. To Have & to Hold all & singular the sd premises of one hundred acres with the appurtenances unto the sd John Rieves his heirs or assigns forever, And I do hereby bind myself, my heirs Executors and administrators to warrant, & forever defend all & singular the sd premises of one hundred acres with the appertenances unto the sd John Reeves his heirs & assigns against myself & my heirs & against Every other person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof. Witness my hand & seal this fifth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight Hundred & one & of American Independence the twenty sixth

Chester District} Benjamin Reeves appeared & made oath that he saw Patrick Graves Sign & Seal the within Deed of Conveyance & deliver the same to John Reeves for the use & purposes therein contained & also that he saw James Dean & William McKinney sign the same as subscribing witness with himself. Sworn to & subscribed thsi 30th day of May AD 1801
