In the name of God Amen, I Margaret Reeves of Charles County and State of Maryland being sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thnks be to God, and calling to mind the mortallity (sic) of my body & knowing that it is appointed for us all once to die do make & ordain this my last will and testament that is to say principally & first of all I give and recommend my soul into the hands of almighty God that gave it and my body I recommend to the earth to be buryed in decent Christian burial at the discretion of my Executor hereafter named, and as touching such worldly Estate as hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give demise & dispose of in the manner and form following viz ~ Item I give and bequeath (sic) to my grandson John Chandler Maccoy one feather Bed, Bedstead and furniture, one large pewter dish, three pewter plates & two pewter Basons and Eight Spoons, one Iron pot, and one Iron Griddle, and one pair Iron pot hooks, and one looking glass, also one other pewter bason and plalte, one writeing (sic) desk and all the Books contained in the Same, and also the Just and full amt. of the property I left in the hands of Stephen Howison Junr. and also one Gold ring and one small Chest and I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments wills, legacies, bequests and Executors by me in any wise before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this to be my last will and testament, and lastly I constitute and appoint my beloved friend and relation Alexander Howison as Executor of this my last will and testament, the said Alexander Howison being of the State of Virginia Prince William County where my property lies, In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this Second December one thousand Eight Hundred and three ~

on the back of the aforegoing will it is thus written Charles County Sct. May 3rd 1804 Then came Isaac McDaniel and Thomas I. Reeves two of the subscribing witnesses to the within last will and testament of Margarett Reeves formerly of Prince William County Virginia and late of Charles County deceased and made oath on the Holy evangels of almighty God that they did See the testatrix therein named sign and seal this will and that they heard her publish pronounce and declare the same to be her last will and testament, that at the time of her so doing she was to the best of their apprehensions of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding and that they together with Elizabeth Reeves the other subscribing witness respectively subscribed their names as witnesses to this will in the presence and at the request of the testatrix and in the presence of each other ~
