Transcript

The People of the State of New York by the Grace of God Free and Independent To all to whom these presents shall come or may concern send Greeting Know ye that at Goshen in the County of Orange on the thirty first day of July last before James Everett Esq Surrogate of our said County the last will and Testament of Mary Reeves deceased (a copy whereof his hereunto annexed) was provided is now approved and allowed of by us and the said deceased having while she lived and at the time of her death goods chattels or credits within this State by means whereof the proving and registering the said will and the granting administration of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also the auditing allowing and final discharging the amount thereof doth belong unto us the administration of all and singular the goods chattels and credits of the said deceased and any way concerning her will is granted unto Eli Corwin 2nd David Reeve the executors & Sarah Reeve the executrix in the said will named thus being first duly sworn will and faithfully to administer the same and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said goods chattels and credits and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required. In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of office of our said surrogate to be hereunto affixed. Witness James Everett Esquire Surrogate of the said County at Goshen the second day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Eleven and of our Independence the Thirty Sixth

Know all men by these presents that I Mary Reeve of the town of Minisink County of Orange and State of New York being weak in body but of sound memory and understanding do make this my last will and Testament in manner following that is to say
First I will that all my just debts be paid by my executors as herein after mentioned out of my property
Second I give to my son David twelve dollars and fifty cents to be kept by him and given to his son James when he shall become of lawful age
Third I give to my son Daniel all the carpenters tools that may be found in the farm excepting a large auger to be given to David as above
Fourth I give to my son Joshua a note which I hold against him of seventy five dollars together with the interest arising thereon excepting tweve dollars and fifty cents of the same to be paid by him to his son James when he shall become of lawful age.
Fifth I give to my daughter Lydia calico for a gown also an equal share with her sisters in my wearing apparel
Sixth I give to my daughter Anna calico for a gown and twelve dollars and fifty cents to be paid to her son James when he shall become of lawful age
Seventh I give to my daughter Keturah her choice of two blue & white coverlaids also two white plannel sheets
Eighth I give to my daughter Deborah the feather bed which I formerly and to her also one flannel blanket cheeked black blue & white
Ninth I give to my son Isaac one dollar
Tenth I give to my daughter Sarah twelve dollars and fifty cents beside what few moveable articles she has call'd her own consisting of a bed & beding a suit of blue & white curtains for the same a woman's saddle and bridle a foot wheel a looking glass & hre chest also a cow & calf which articles she has formerly called her own
Eleventh I give to my daughter Mary Amutal six dollars besides a bed & beding woman's saddle besides a looking glass cow chester also a cow and calf which articles she had formerly called her own
Twelvth I give to my daughter Jerusha five dollars in addition to what she has formerly called her own consisting of a bed and beding a low chest and a cow.
Thirteenth I give to my son Elijah thirty dollars & also my wan mare with her colt & my waggon and pleasure slay a bed and bedding a chest which was his fathers a pair of new boots and a new saddle and bridle which he has calld his own also I give to him my right in the farm as conveyed to him in his father's Last will & testament also a gin & accoutriments & year old calfe which he has called his own
Fourteenth I give to my daughter Dorothy five dollars also a bed and bedding a cow & a low chest
Fifteenth I give to my Daughter Julia five dollars a bed and bedding a cow & a low chest the remainder of my moveables (if any) to be sold & the avails to be equally divided between my daughters Sarah Mary Amutal Jerusha Dolly & Julia
Lastly I constitute Eli Corwin 2d & David my son executors & Sarah my daughter executrix of this my last will and Testament whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this nineteenth day of June in the year of our Lord Christ one thousand eight hundred and eleven

Orange County SS Be it remembered that on the thirty first day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eleven personally appeared before me James Everett surrogate of the said County of Orange Simeon W Buckwith and being duly sworn upon his oath declared that he did see Mary Reeve deceased make her mark to and seal the written instrument then shewn unto him of which the preceeding is a true copy purporting to be the last will and testament of the said deceased having date the nineteenth day of June last and heard her publish and declare the same as and for her last will and Testament that at the time thereof she the said deceased was of a sound disposing mind and memory to the best of the knowledge and belief of him the deponent and that he together with Eli Corwin 2nd and Temperance Reeve subscribed their names thereto as witness in the testator's presence and in the presence of each other.
