Transcript

This Indenture made and confirmed this 4th day of September in the year of our Lord 1818 between Alfred Nicholson of the State of South Carolina and Lewis Reeves of the County of Anson and State of North Carolina of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Nicholson for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Reeves at & before the sealing an delivery of these presents hath bargained sold and confirmed unto the sd Reeves and to his heirs a certain tract or parcel of land in the County of Anson on the So. side of Lanes Creek beginning at a pine of Enoch's old line and runs So. 3 degrees Et. 16 chs. to a dogwood with a post oak and two black jack pointers then No. 30 chs. to a post oak with two hickories pointers thence Wt. 15 chs. to the bank of sd Creek thence up the sd Creek with the various courses to the mouth of the branch that runs the Wt. side of the plantation and leads up the sd branch to first station containing eighty acres be the same more or less being agreeable to the patent granted to Enoch Deason as the record will more fully show with every other privilege or profit or assigns from sd lands and tenements to him the sd Reeves his heirs and assigns forever fully to be enjoyed by him without any interruption molestation or demands of him the sd Alfred Nicholson his heirs or assigns or any other manner of person or persons whatsoever but shall warrant and forever defend the peaceable possession of sd in manner and form mentioned. In witness whereof I have set my hand and assigned my seal the day and date above written.
