Lancaster District         } Know all men by these presents that I James Reeves of the State and District aforesaid for & in consideration of the sum of Two hundred and Seventy two Dollars & fifty cents to me in hand paid by John Reeves of the District & State aforesaid have Granted bargained, sold & released & by these presents do bargain sell & release unto the said John Reeves a certain tract or parcel of land containing two hundred and eighteen acres lying on the South side of the said creek. Beginning at an ash 3x2 thence up said creek to Loves line, thence along Loves line to a post oak 3x6 thence Sogg E 16.45 pine 3x6. Thence N86 E40 to a sourwood 3x2 N22 ½ E pine station 51.50. To the beginning ash - containing Two hundred & eighteen acres - Together with all & singular the Rights members & hereditaments to the premises belonging or in anywise appertaining - To have and to hold all the premises before described unto the said John Reeves his heirs & assigns forever & the said James Reeves does hereby bind myself my heirs Exrs & admrs to warrant & forever defend all & singular the said premises unto the said John Reeves his heirs & assigns against myself my heirs & assigns & against every other person lawfully claiming or to claim any part thereof - Witness my hand this 22 June 1836
