Transcription

This Indenture made the twenty fourth day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty Six Between James Reeves of the County of Hancock and State of Indiana of the first part and George Reeves of the county of Hancock and State aforesaid of the second part Witnesseth that Said James Reeves of the first part for and inconsideration of the sum of one Dollar to him in hand paid by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted Bargained Sold Conveyed and confirmed and doth by these presents Grant bargain Sell convey and confirm unto Said party of the Second part and his heirs and assigns forever all that certain part or tract of Land Lying and being in the County of Hancock forty acres on the East part of the N.W. qr East Side of the E ½ in Section No. 18 Township 16 N of Range No 7 E -
Together with all the privaleges and appurtenances thereunto belonging and the remainders and profits thereof and all the Estate Title and claim of the Said James Reeves in and to the Same to have and to hold the premises aforesaid with all the appurtenances to the only proper use benefit and behoof of the said George Reeves his heirs and assigns forever And the Said James Reeves for himself his heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant Grant and agree to and with the said George Reeves party of the Second part his heirs and assigns that the said James Reeves are Lawfully Seized in fee of the aforesaid premises that the premises Is (?) free from all Encumberances that he the said James Reeves hath good Right full power and Lawful authority to Sell and convey the Same in manner and aforesaid and that he will for himself his heirs Executors and Administrators Shall warrant and Defend the Same to the said George Reeves his heirs and assigns forever against All Lawful Claim or Claims of any person or persons Whomsoever In Witness whereof the said James Reeves and Elizabeth Reeves the wife of the Said James Reeves hath hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written Signed in presence of

This day Came before William Martindale A Justice of the peace within and for Said County personaly Came James Reeves and Elizabeth Reeves the wife of James Reeves the grantors Named in the above Deed of Conveyance and acknowledged the same to be their voluntary act and Deed for the uses and purposes therein mentioned And the said Elizabeth Reeves the wife of James Reeves having being by me Examined Seperate and apart from her Said husband as required by Law touching the above Deed declaired that signed sealed and Delivered the same of her own free voluntary free will and accord without any compulsion of her Said husband and that she thereby relinquished all her right and claim to Dower in the said premises In Testimony Whereof I have hereunto Set my hand and Seal this the Ninth day of July Eighteen hundred and thirty Six
