Transcription

This Indenture made the first day of June in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four, Between Nevill Reeves & Anna Reeve of the County of Hancock and State of Indiana of the first part and Benjamin Reeves of the County of Hancock and State of Indiana of the second part Witnesseth that the said party of the first part in consideration of the sum of forty five dollars to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part, the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have granted bargained sold Conveyed and Confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell Convey and Confirm unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever the following described Real Estate lying in the County of Hancock and State of Indiana towit ten acres off the South end of the North East quarter of the South East quarter of Section No thirty one Range No eight east Township No seventeen North, the same being in the District of lands subject to sale at Indianapolis Indiana To have and to hold the said premises with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns forever, hereby Covenanting that the title so Conveyed is clear free and unincumbered and further that the said part of the first part his heirs executors and administrators will warrant and forever defend the same to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns against all legal claims whatsoever.
In Witness whereof the said Nevill Reeves and Anna his wife have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written.

The State of Indiana Hancock County S.S.
Before me Robert Eakin a Justice of the Peace within and for said County personally came Nevill Reeves and Anna Reeves his wife and acknowledged the above deed of Conveyance to be their voluntary act and deed, for the purposes therein mentioned. And also Anna Reeves the wife of the said Neville Reeves being by me examined separate and apart from and without the hearing of her said husband and the full Contents and purport of the above deed being fully made Known and explained to her she acknowledged that she executed the same and Relinquished her right of dower therein of her own voluntary free will and accord without any Coercion or Compulsion from her husband.
In Testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 3rd day of June 1844.
