I the Said Asa Reaves do give unto my daughter Eliza Reeves, two cows and one calf Known by these marks, one red cow with white back and belly and one red and white pided heifer to hold the Same as her own part of my Estate, September 8th 1845.

Commentary

There are no extant probate records in Lauderdale County for Asa Reaves who appears to have died sometime after the 1860 census was taken. The three deeds executed on this date to his children Eliza and James in addition to son-in-law John Sheubart appear to have been bequests made in lieu of a will.
