Narrative

No definitive proof has been found thus far linking Elizabeth Allen to Mary Reeves and Bartlett Allen; however, based upon research of the Allen families in Wake County at the time of Elizabeth's birth and marriage to Wright Stanly, it is reasonably certain that she is their child.

Following Wright Stanly's death sometime after 1850, his estate was administered by Peleg Rogers who appears to have had some family connection. This Peleg Rogers was the son of Benjamin Rogers to whom Bartlett Allen deeded all of his property, plantation, stock and the majority of his household effects for $25.00 in 1830. The deed gives no explanation for this conveyance, i.e. payment of a note, etc.

There is a Wake County NC Deed dated Sep 1860 distributing part of the dower portion of the estate of Wright Stanly, however Elizabeth was not deceased at the time for her estate file is dated 1872.
