Reeves Y-DNA Project Updates - March 2006 [1]

Hello All,

I am pleased to announce the newest match in the Reeves DNA surname project! One of our newer members, Anthony Scott Reeves has had an exact match of 25 markers with two other members of the Reeves project (Charles Sherman Reeves & Richard Allan Reeves).

    Kit  28591 for Charles Sherman Reeves
    Kit  41599 for Richard Allan Reeves
    Kit  50501 for Anthony Scott Reeves

These three members now make up group number 5 within the Reeves DNA project. Two of these members trace their Reeves line back to Thomas Reeve who died in Suffolk NY in about 1665!

A perfect 25 out of 25 marker match means that there is an 85% probability that these members share a common ancestor sometime within the last 8 generations.

I have asked Anthony to email his Reeves line to Barry for inclusion on the Reeves DNA Project website. I also ask that Anthony, Charles and Richard get in touch with one another to compare there Reeves lines.

I am excited to see the continued progress within this project and I urge those who have been sitting on the sidelines up to this point to join us now.

I especially urge any descendants of Walter Reeves of Burlington NJ to join the project as this line in not currently represented in the Reeves DNA Project.

The latest updates have been applied to the Reeves DNA Project website. Congratulations on the latest match in group 5. I have added the Immigrant Ancestor or Major Line for each of the match groups where it is known or fairly obvious. Hopefully, this will help others see where they may fit in.

I have still not received the family lines for eight of the test participants. If you see that your line has not been sent in, please send it to me at your earliest convenience.
