Mr. David Reeves, ex-sheriff of Marshall county, was operated on at Riverside hospital this morning. Mr. Clem Riggs, of Bardwell, was operated on yesterday at the hospital.

Sheriff Dying at Benton.
Paducah, Ky., April 12 - [Special] - David Reeves, Sheriff of Marshall county, is dying at his country home near Benton. Physicians say he cannot live longer than a few days. He has been ill several months.

Marshall County Sheriff and Public Man of Popular Traits
The funeral of Hon. David Reeves of Benton, who died Tuesday of stomach trouble was held this afternoon. The burial was in the Palmer cemetery. He was one of the most popular men in Marshall county, having been sheriff of the county and held several other public positions. He was 50 years old, born and raised in Marshall county. He was a bachelor. He is survived by three brothers, Messrs. James Reeves Oak Level; John and Hugh Reeves, of Colorado and a sister, Mrs. G. Bohannan, of Marshall county. He leaves the following half brothers and sisters: Messrs. Robert and App Reeves and Mrs. T. J. Riley, Marshall county. The deceased was a cousin of Circuit Judge William M. Reed.
