Elizabeth and Thomas Sthreshly may have also had other children but there are no records to document. A Margaret Sthreshly was probably their child for she is recorded as giving testimony for Ann Reeves, sister to Elizabeth, in a 1707 court case in Essex County. Ann Reeves was plaintiff in a case filed against her brother Joseph Reeves and Jane, his wife. [Essex County VA OB 4 p22-23]
Although there is no extant marriage record for Elizabeth Reeves to Thomas Sthreshley, he is mentioned in the will of Henry Reeves as living on one of his plantations. There is also an entry in the Essex County Court Orders Vol. 4 regarding a petition against the administrator of the estate of James Reeves filed by Thomas Sthreshley and Elizabeth his wife. The entry on Page 3 of Order Book 4, specifically states that Elizabeth Sthreshly was the sister of the deceased James Reeves.
Thomas Streshley is listed as one of the adjoining landowners when William Upshaw, Gent., planter, purchased 1017 acres of land in Essex County in 1699. [Essex D & W Bk. 10, pp 46-47] He is also recorded on the 1715 quit rent roll of Essex County with 200 acres.
Elizabeth was still living in 1711 for she was named as a legatee in the will of her mother Elizabeth Reeves.
By around 1715, Elizabeth's son Thomas Streshley, Jr. is routinely listed as a witness to deeds or in other records of Essex County. In May of 1720, Thomas Jr. is listed as one of the witnesses to the will of Captain William Upshaw.
Elizabeth's husband, Thomas Sthreshly, Sr. was apparently still living in 1735 when their son wrote his will, for in it he included a legacy of eight pounds per year out of his estate for maintenance of his father.
An account of the estate of Elizabeth's son, Captain Thos. Sthreshly, included a payment to “Reeves sute at Wmsburg”, Essex County at Tappa. December 20, 1737 (see also 1741). The estate of Mr Thos. Sthreshly, Jr. paid George Reeves a lawyer’s fee in the suit brought by John Reeves against Charles Waller, Essex County, July 1741. [See also 1737 indicating suit went on for years.]
