The above children named in the 1845 Will of Joel Avery Reeves.

Thomas and John Reeves were living in the home of their widowed grandmother, Nancy Reeves in Jasper County in the 1850 census.

Research Notes

This James H. Reeves was formerly confused with James H. Reeves who lived in Morgan County, Alabama. They cannot be the same however, as this James appears in 1840 in Jasper County, and the other in Morgan County, Alabama. James H. Reeves of Morgan County was married to a Mary who is buried by him and died in 1882. The appear to have had a son in 1832 who is buried there as well so this cannot be the same James H. Reeves who was married to Sarah P. Reeves in 1838.
