Research Notes

Either the 1850 census taker made errors in the listing of Prior Reeves' children or two of the younger children listed in the household, Maria and Pryer, may have been deceased by the time of Prior Reeves, Sr.'s death since they are not mentioned in probate of his estate. Jonah, born 1828, as listed in the 1850 census is also not named in probate documents. Other children were named as heirs in probate documents i.e. Lewis C. Reeves and C. P. (Calista Penelope) Reeves although they were not listed in that 1850 census and both are named in Prior's 1860 household.
