Wiki Stats - End January 2021
The total number of pages in the Wiki (as at 1 February 2021) now stands at 10703 (previously 10670, 10641, 10591) an increase of 33 pages during the month. Of the total, 2043 pages (was 2040, 2040, 2035) begin with a number and are most probably a date related gleaning. We currently have 4594 wiki pages categorised as "People", of which 4088 begin with the letter "R".Community members should log in to see more.
TRP Users
We ended January 2021 with 461 user accounts registered in TRP, an increase of two over the previous month. . We had just one user then go on to successfully activated their account during the past month. We welcome to our community Allen R.Whether you joined TRP recently or a while ago, if you have yet to do so, please set a meaningful name for yourself as described in First Steps - Part 1. It isn't difficult and only takes a couple of minutes to do. If it helps, think of it as a name label badge; so your first name plus surname (or at least surname initial) would generally be a good choice. You'll find links to the remainder of the our six part First Steps as part of the FAQ - First Steps.

Brief Closure - 31 January 2021
The structures with in TRP, such as the FamilyOf groupings and the various (US) State, (UK) County, Territory, Province and similar pages, are of great benefit to the way we can share information. Those pages have the additional grey navigation bar with its breadcrumb trail. Whilst the way those pages have been presented to the user community has been fine, under the covers they have caused our senior community members, who help maintain them, much frustration over many years.In the past few weeks Jonathan has been digging into the database table which underpins those structures and uncovered an anomaly in just over 10% of those entries, affecting 20 of our 50+ structures. He worked out how we might correct these errors and then built a test system to which he applied the proposed data corrections. We reviewed the changes and the way the test system worked once corrected and found no new issues. During the afternoon of Sunday 31 January, Jonathan briefly closed access to this our live TRP system whilst he applied the same data corrections.
We didn't feel this brief outage was significant enough to warrant sending a formal notification to the whole community. Apologies if you unexpectedly found TRP closed for a brief period of time on Sunday 31 January 2021 and our thanks to Jonathan for planning and executing this change for us.
