In the name of God Amen I Daniel Reaves of Davidson County and State of Tennessee being weak in body but of Sound mind and Memory Blessed be God do make and Ordain this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following To Wit - First I give unto my well beloved Wife Ellender Reaves all my Estate both Real and Personal of Every kind Whatever During her natural life - 2nd at the death of my wife or at her Discretion I give and Bequeath unto my Grand Son James Chesser one good Cow and Calf. 3dly at the death of my well beloved Wife I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Anne two thirds of the Residue of my Estate both Real and Personal 4thly After the death of my beloved Wife I give and bequeth (sic) unto my Daughter Nancy Simpkins the remaining third part both real and personal to her & her heirs forever 5thly I do appoint my well beloved Wife Ellender Reaves my whole and Sole Executrix to this my Last Will and Testament. State of Tennessee Davidson County Court October Sessions 1824
A Paper Writing purporting to be the Last Will and Testament of Daniel Reaves deceased was produced in open Court for probate and proved thus, Thomas Hickman and Aquilla Price the Subscribing Witnesses to said paper Writing being duly Sworn Say they became Such in the presence of the Testator and at his Request and in the presence of each other and that they Believe said Daniel Reaves decd was of Sound and Disposing mind at the time of Executing said paper Writing It is Therefore Ordered that said paper Writing be admitted to Record as Such Will of said Daniel decd Whereupon Ellender Reaves the Executrix named in said Will Came into Court and Gave bond of two Thousand dollars with Armon A. Simpkins and Aquilla Price her Securities for the faithfull Discharge of the Trusts Ref--sed in her and qualified according to Law ordered that She have Letters Testamentary Granted to her.
