Transcript

In the name of God Amen.
I, John Reeves, of the City, County and State of New York, being mindful of the uncertainty of life and desirous of making a proper distribution of my wordly estate do make publish and declare this to be my last Will and Testament as follows:
First: I order that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid out of my estate at the earliest practical day after my decease.
Second In addition to the policy of Insurance on my life for the sum of Ten thousand dollars which is payable to my wife Harriet Reeves, I give and bequeath unto her all my household furniture, pictures, plates, piano, bedding and household utensils of every description.
Third: I give devise and bequeath all the real residue and remainder of my estate real and personal wheresoever the same may be situated and whatsoever the same may consist of unto my said wife Harriet Reeves, my daughter Margaret A. Benjamin, wife of William Benjamin and my daughter Charlotte E. Patten the wife of John H. Patten in the equal proportions, share and share alike to have and to hold the same unto them their heirs and assigns forever; but this provision in favor of my wife should be accepted by her in lieu of all dower which she may be entitled to have maintain or to make claim to in my real estate.
Fourt: I appoint my said wife Harriet Reeves and my said two daughters executrices of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking any and all former wills that may have been at any time by me made.
In Witness Whereof: I have hereunto set my hand and have affixed my seal this twenty-fifth day of March in the year one thousand eight hundred and ninety.

The foregoing instrument was upon the day of its date signed, sealed, published and declared by the above named John Reeves to be his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other subscribed our names as witnesses
