Ministers return of marriage record incorrectly lists groom's name as Joseph instead of Joel Rives. The record from the Civil War widow's pension records states that he was "passing as Joseph" indicating he was concealing his real name. The record also contains a list of the children and their births. This section also states they was married on the 27th of March, not 30th, but references the County clerk's records. This statement was given 26 March 1898.
Joel Rives was in Co. E of the 6th Regiment of the Missouri State Militia Cavalry.
