Wiki Stats - End May 2017

The total number of pages in the Wiki (as at 1 June 2017) now stands at 6894 (previously 6857, 6832, 6807) an increase of 37 pages during the month.     Of these 1336 pages (was 1332, 1328, 1324) begin with a number and are most probably a date related gleaning.     We currently have 2848 wiki pages categorised as "People", of which 2424 begin with the letter "R".

TRP Users

We ended May 2017 with 286 user accounts registered in TRP, the same as the previous month. Whilst no new users have registered an account during the month, Nicky Robinson successfully activated hers. She's off to a flying start having created her AboutMe page and a new person page. I'm particularly looking forward to reading her future contributions, since her family's roots are in Wiltshire not far from where my tribe has it roots in neighbouring Hampshire.

Early Reeves' Families in Colonial America

If you've not dropped by the blog "Reeves, Reaves and More Rives" recently and have family with roots in Colonial America, there's a treat in store for you there.   Beverly has put together a map showing the primary (historic) location of 17 colonial families (pre Revolutionary War residents) and written a brief summary of each of those families. I was so impressed by this scholarly piece of work, that I've asked Beverly for her permission to serialise her blog post into a set of new TRP pages and she has kindly agreed.
The first three family pages are already accessible as

• the Family of Thomas Reeve of Long Island, New York
• the Family of George Reaves of Halifax County, Virginia and
• the Family of William Reeves, Sr of Wake County, North Carolina.

It takes a little effort to create the wiki structure for each of the pages which permits easier navigation up and down each family's tree, so we'll be adding pages for the other families mentioned in her blog post over the coming days and weeks.
