This Indenture made the Twenty second Day of October one Thousand seven hundred and eighty three Between William Reaves of Wain County and State of North Carolina of the one part and Joel Sasser of the County ad State aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth That the sd William Reaves for the consideration of the Twenty five Pounds Current Money to him in hand paid by the said Joel Saser before the Executing and Delivery of these Presents Receipt whereof I do hereby Exonerate acquit and discharge the sd Joel Saser his Heirs Ext'tr Administrators & Assigns and have Given Granted Bargained Sold (unreadable) Conveyed and Confirmed unto him the sd Joel Saser his Heirs or Assigns one (unreadable) Tract or parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the afores'd County of Wain Containing by Estimation Two Hundred and Fifty Acres be it more or be it less on the North side of Nuse River on Brookses Swamp Beginning at pine and South one hundred and twenty five pole to pine then East two hundred and fifty five pole to a pine then North two hundred and twenty five pole to a pine then to a pine in the upper fork of Brookses Swamp then down the sd Swamp to the bent near Hobes path then by a Consent line to the Beginning It being a patent Granted to William Reaves bearing date the tenth day of November one Thousand and seven hundred and Seventy Nine Relation thereto will more plainly in the plat To Have and to Hold the sd Tract of land with all woods and under woods water or water courses with all appurtenances privilege (unreadable) to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to him the sd Joel Saser his Heirs Ex'tr Administrators or Assigns forever as a good Perfect and Absolute Estate of Inheritance in Fee simple and I the sd William Reaves do (unreadable) Ingage to and with the sd Joel Saser his Heirs and Assigns that before the Ensealing of these presents that I am the true Sole and Lawful owner of the above Bargained premises and have in myself a good right full power and Lawful authority to Bargain Sell and dispose of the same in manner as afores'd and that the sd Joel Saser his Hiers and assigns shall and may from time to time and at all times forever thereof by free and Virtue of these Presents have hold use Occupy Possess and enjoy the same from all Persons whatsoever free and clear from all manner or other Gifts Grants Bargain (unreadable) leases Wills Entails (unreadable) judgments Executions Incumberances or (unreadable) and I William Reaves my Heirs Ex'tr Administrators do Warrant and Defend the above land and premises to him the sad Joel Saser his Heirs and Assigns forever In Witness Whereof I have Hereunto set my hand and Seal this 22nd day of October Anno Domini 1783.
