How do I rename a Wiki Page?

Unfortunately the Tiki software we use doesn’t easily allow us to give individual users the right to rename the pages they create. And because of the way external search engines such as Google index our content, we need to be cautious with how page renames are handled.

Forgetting to add a random numeric suffix to a newly created person page is by far the most common reason for requesting a page rename. As soon as you are aware of the issue, please leave details of the current page name, proposed page name and the reason for seeking the change on your mentor team's talk page and one of the mentors will then perform the rename for you.

Please note we won’t rename a long standing page just because you now know that illusive middle initial E stood for Elvis. It is sufficient to reflect that additional information in the page title (the first line of content which is prefixed with a single exclamation mark).

Requests to rename other types of pages should also be made via your mentor team's talk page. As above, please leave details of the current page name, proposed page name and the reason for requesting the change
