In 1843, Stephen's widow Sarah "Sarey" Reaves gave "a negro boy by the name of Briton...I got from the estate of my father after the decease of my husband Stephen Reaves" to "my son Abner L. Reeves."

There was a John Reeves present in Talbot County who had rights to his estate as well, but is not named in Stephen's will.
