Narrative

Children of Randolph Reeve and Clementine Ewell:
  1. John Randolph Reeve, b. 16 Mar 1847, d. 11 Dec 1927, Blanco County, Texas
  2. Mary Elizabeth Reeve, b. 1848, m. John W. Sanders on 4 Nov 1869 in Rapides Parish
  3. William Thomas Reeve, b. 1849, d. 19 Feb 1922, Dimmit County, Texas
John Reeve of Amite County, Mississippi appears to be a likely candidate for the father of Randolph Reeve but when John Reeve died in 1867, Randolph was living but was not mentioned in probate records of the estate. The probate documents only list the heirs of John's brother and sisters as legatees.

It is also possible that Randolph was the child of Spencer Reeves who was also living in Columbia County, Georgia at the time of Randolph's birth and had several sons who are as yet unidentified. Spencer was likely a brother to John Reeves, but there is currently nothing to support that theory other than proximity.

Worthy of note is the fact that John Reeve's next neighbor in the 1850 census was William Ewell, brother of Randolph's wife Clementine. William L. Ewell also served as an executor of the estate of John Reeve in 1867.
