In an 1841 entry in the Bedford County Deed books, Archibald states that his father was Archibald Reeves Senr., decd, and that he gave his right to the estate to Tarleton J. Reeves.
Archibald was of Wilcox County Alabama when in 1844 he bought a half acre which was up for public sale by the tax collector, the previous owner being delinquent.
Archibald was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 36th Alabama Regiment on 30 Aug 1846.
In 1851, Archibald and his wife Ann sold sold land in Allenton which had been "formerly occupied by B. S. Rives." This could indicate that his brother Benjamin S. Reaves had died by this time.
In 1853, Archibald purchased a grant of almost 40 acres in Cahaba, Alabama.
Archibald made his will in 1855 and it was probated in 1856 in Wilcox County, Alabama. It only mentions his wife Sarah Ann.
He appears to be buried in Allenton Cemetery in Wilcox County, but the headstone photos are not readable.
