An inventory of John's estate was taken 28 Sep 1847 which describes him as of Northampton. It mentions money from a judgement against William Hellerman. A deed dated 24 Dec 1847 from his son John names all of his children. His son John was living in Liberty County, Ohio and dealt with some land that his father had possessed in that county.

The will of his widow Sarah was made on 9 Feb 1849 and names all the children and several grandchildren. The son John was deceased by that time.

There were two John's in Northampton in 1840, one of them age 30-40 with no one else in the household. The other is age 70-80 with a wife and a male 30-40 and female 15-20 in the household. This second is a good match. Their son Joseph was living with his mother in 1850 so it makes sense he was still with the parents in 1840. The female 15-20 would be Elanora who married Charles Stoy in 1842. This then also appears to match the John in Northampton in 1830.
