Narrative
Percy Alfred was always known as 'Sam' presumably due to the preceedings 4 generations of his paternal line being called Samuel, paybe he didn't like his given names. He was a native of Brockenhurst. When his first son was born he was described as Lance Corporal, No.2661271, Coldstream Guards, of The Cottage, Five Thorns, Brockenhurst. At the time of his death he was described as a Postal and Telegraph Officer. Before the War he had been a van driver, but during the War joined the 5th Bn Coldstream Guards and was seriously wounded in Normandy in 1944, loosing a leg. He died of cancer of the spine.Children of Percy Alfred & Elsie Mary Reeves.
